Toilet Parts

Having the right toilet parts can be the difference between a toilet that works and a toilet that doesn't. However, the problem that many homeowners face, is choosing the right parts from the huge selection available at just about any hardware store. There are a lot of manufacturers and custom toilets out there right now that require different valves, handles and of course many other parts to work properly. We carry hundreds of toilet parts on our service vans, but realize that not everyone has access to all of those parts, hopefully we can help you find just the part you need or are looking for.

If you are shopping for toilet parts, you can find a complete list of everything we offer at the bottom of this page. You will find universal parts as well as parts for Kohler, Eljer, Mansfield and many more manufacturers.

Should I Buy Universal or Manufacturer Specific Parts?

In many cases, universal parts are a great option and sometimes the only option when you need to make a repair. If you have a higher end toilet you might consider looking for a manufacturer part first and if it is readily available its probably the way to go. Usually we find that your average hardware or home improvement store only carries universal parts, due to limited space and inventory.Typically, a universal toilet part will work just fine, although you may run into problems if the item does not fit just right.

You can check your toilet's manufacturer website to find part availability. If they do not have a part list or do not sell directly to the public, you might consider contacting a specialty plumbing supply store. Most cities have a supply house for plumbing parts and many of them to sell to the public. You can also find a number of manufacturer specific toilet parts both on this website and at other online shops.

Repair Myself or Hire a Plumber?

Well, this question really depends on your budget and capabilities. Plumbers are expensive, often charging in excess of one hundred dollars per hour for general service fees, in addition to a mark-up on parts. One thing we try to tell people, is that toilet repairs are generally pretty easy. Even inexperienced homeowners can repair most toilet problems in under an hour, depending on the problem.

We have a number of repair guides on this site covering various problems that you may encounter with your toilet. Those guides are a great place to start if you need a walk-through on repairing your toilet. If you have any questions, we are always available for questions, just use our contact form.
